Young Adult Ministry
of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America

About the National Committee

This committee consists of the two young adult representatives from each Diocese and members of the Archdiocesan Youth and Young Adult Ministry Team. This team meets three times per year to be trained and sustain the young adult ministry throughout the archdiocese. These representatives can be an excellent resource to assist you in young adult ministry.

The objective of the young adult ministry is to cultivate and educate young adults (ages 18-35) to help them become more active members of the body of Christ.  As young adults search for meaning in life, this ministry helps them develop an even deeper awareness of their identity as Orthodox Christians.

LITURGIA - Participation in the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Sacraments and other Worship services is a key part of ministry-sponsored events and activities.

MARTYRIA - Through retreat discussions, conference workshops, and service activities, young adults are encouraged to be a Witness of our faith -- growing deeper in understanding and more committed in practice.

DIAKONIA - Service projects, whether on a national, regional or local level, provide opportunities for us to follow Christ's example of loving our neighbor.

KOINONIA - A central focus of all young adult activities is Fellowship with other Orthodox Christians.
